DJANGO RHYTHM

Be transported back to the boulevards of Paris in the 30’s and 40’s with joyful and romantic jazz music. Django Rhythm formed in 1991 out of common love for the music of Django Reinhardt, Stephane Grapelli and the Hot Club of France. The music is often referred to as Gypsy jazz due to its blend of American and European jazz. The band has been performing regularly as a trio comprising accordion, double bass and acoustic guitar but can also extend or interchange with vocals, Saxophone and Violin. (A most recent line up is seen and heard here.) Django Rhythm can easily adapt to outdoor or indoor performances, acoustic or amplified as well as roving. The repertoire ranges from old jazz standards, Django Reinhardt Songbook to French waltzes and Boleros.
