Jessica Mauboy

From her humble roots performing on Australian Idol in 2006, Jessica has blossomed into a mature and exciting performer both onstage and on television screens around Australia. She is an active role model for the indigenous community, with her family originating from the Indigenous tribe KuKu Yalanji. Jessica was also the very first non-European to be invited to perform in the Eurovision Song Contest – paving the way for the Australians who followed this debut. One of Australia’s most successful female artists, Jessica Mauboy is from outback Australia with her family originating from the Indigenous tribe KuKu Yalanji. Jessica’s musical journey became public in 2006 when she starred on Australian Idol and since then she has achieved fourteen Top 30 hit singles from three studio albums, four ARIA accredited Platinum selling albums and received numerous awards including the 2014 ARIA Award for Best Female and the 2012 ARIA Award for Best Pop Release. Jessica is also a role model for the indigenous community and has collaborated with charity organisations in mentoring, performing and education for indigenous children and teens. In 2014 she made history when she was invited to perform as a guest at the Eurovision Song Contest in Denmark, being the first non-European solo artist to do so. Jessica has more recently turned her skills to acting with a debut performance in The Secret Daughter.
